Jonus & Lilah

This web site is dedicated with all my love

to my dogs who are part of my family and are my constant companions.

Last summer and earlier this year we attended a few dog shows and events. We always receive a warm welcome and lots of encouragement from friends. With these few words I would like to thank all those who have been with me in this undertaking.

My family, who stand by my side unconditionally , the breeders who have put their trust in me by giving me these beautiful dogs, the vets who have always been there for any doubts and especially, my close friends who know who they are,who always gives me their valuable advice.

Here is a little information on how we came about our beautiful dogs.

My husband and I have been around dogs all our lives and have always had one or two as part of our own family. Our last dogs were two beautiful Golden Retriever females mother and daughter, who were with us until they passed away. Arran at 12 and Ceilidh at 14 years old. They left such a huge hole in our hearts and we still miss them very much.

We decided it was now the right time to introduce a dog back into our family.

We would be looking for a dog whose gentle temperament would be suitable to be around our six grandchildren who range from 1year to 12 years old. This new addition would have to love being loved and fussed over and enjoy being around family members and friends.A dog who would enjoy spending time outside, meeting and greeting all other people, being part of and enjoying new experiences as well as being happy to be inside with the family.

The dog we had chosen to look at was the Bernese Mountain Dog.

We arranged to visit a view events where we knew there were going to be lots of Bernese dogs attending. This would allow us to be around them and to chat with breeders and pet owners, and help confirm the Bernese dog was the right choice for us.

This was a very easy decision, as both of us instantly fell in love with the breed.Their soft character and striking looks only encouraged us more that we had made the right choice.

...Jonus...

The breeder of Jonus was recommened to us and we arranged to meet her for a chat. She decided we would be ideal for one of her puppies and arranged another visit in a few weeks when we would be allowed first choice of the boys.As you can imagine we were very excited.

We choose our new puppy and named him Jonus of Cooriedoon.

(Cooriedoon is a word used in Scotland that means snuggle up!

It would be used as we settle our children into bed for the night .

We were thrilled and 8 weeks later after several visits we brought Jonus home.

It was January 2009 the perfect way to start our year.

...Lilah...

Having always had two dogs we knew it would not be too long before we would adopt another.

The following January we were blessed with the arrival of Lilah.

Lilah is such a beautiful puppy with such a sweet gentle nature and is now the Princess of our home.

Like most pups she can be naughty and has been known to push poor Jonus away to get in there for the first cuddle!

What a cheeky girl but who could resist such a beauty!

Jonus and Lilah get on really well, it almost seems like they have been together forever.

Jonus is always looking out for her.He llikes to keep her looking her best and can be found

lying beside her cleaning her face and ears.

What a wonderful boy he is!.
